The Kalahandi Cup Senior Inter-District Cricket Tournament is being conducted in a new format from this year. The revised rules regarding the new structure was announced by Orissa Cricket Association secretary Asirbad Behera today.
According to the new structure, the tournament will be conducted in inter-zonal format, featuring T-20, One-day and Three-day categories. It would conclude with the final match of the three-day format to be played at Ravenshaw University ground in Cuttack from April 26 to 28.
Winners of each of the three formats will be given cash prizes of Rs 30,000 each, while the three runners-up will receive Rs 20,000 each. However, the coveted Kalahandi Cup will go to the winners of the three-day format.
East Coast Railway emerged champions in the one-day format earlier this month. Calculations are in progress to determine the winners of the T-20 format, which was completed first earlier in March.
